I fear

Little girls in the basement
Little girls in the attic
Perhaps little boys too
But they don't scare me as much as worms.

Worms not only scare me, but they completely gross me out to the point I start shivering. Even the word 'worm' is repulsive.
I love the rain.
But I dread it now because it means the worms come out to play.
Last year as I walked to school, I stood on the sidewalk waiting to cross the road when I noticed hundreds of small twigs on the road. "Ridiculous winds" I thought and waited. Until a gust of wind blew with a slight drizzle and all the twigs started slithering which was when I realised I was standing in the middle of hundreds of worms. And then I thought Fear Factor and what would happen if they were all over me, and I burst out crying. 8 A.M and I was crying because I was surrounded by worms. Regardless of the fact I had knee high boots on, I ran back home and didn't go to class.

Today I saw a twig while waiting for a bus stop.
It turned out to be a very very very long worm.
And I decided that the only way I can overcome my fear was to stare at it.
And I did.
For three minutes.
Then I decided I would move it so I bent down to pick up a stick to move it.
Only the stick turned out to be a dead worm.
I shuddered. Jumped back. Felt the mornings hot chocolate come back up my throat.
I took three steps away and started looking out for the bus.
And then I turned around to see how my worm friend was doing.
It was moving very very slowly. A very interesting mechanism by which it moved.
I decided it needed friends.
So I started looking for a wife so that it could atleast have sex while I was at work.
"Aren't worms hermaphrodites?"
Oh well, just in case it was tired of its left hand, I would find it a gay partner or an awesome hot worm babe.
4 minutes left for the bus to come.
I looked for worms.
Found a nice fat one. My worm friend would be happy.
Found a twig. Picked the worm babe up.
Alas.It was a wet twig. Not a worm.
The bus came.
I waved goodbye to my first and only worm friend.
Perhaps we can play again tomorrow.
