There is nothing exciting happening in my life, to the point that I want to stir up some controversy just to add some drama.
The Boy's parents went to my house in Madras for lunch a few weeks back. We are all now officially one big 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun' family, with the only exception being - a tangible wedding in sight. I see myself dating The Boy for another year and a half before we 'settle' down. I ask him once a week when we plan on getting married and get disappointed when he says 2012, but I know if he said any earlier I might freak out myself. I entirely believe the fortune teller from Kodaikanal who said "Thappa ponna porandha" (She was born a girl by mistake).Inspite of my deep understanding of Biology, I believe my body has a lot of dominant male genes which would also explain my difficulty in making women friends and having way too many male friends. I found out two weeks back, that The Boy's original name was to be Vishnu but was changed towards the end. I also found out that my mother was convinced I was going to be a boy and wanted to name me Vishnu. Creepy innit?
Over the past few weekends, we've been lazy, tired, hungover and very domesticated. So we decided that this week should be more memorable. Atleast more getting out of the house and less cooking and doing dishes.
1) We are watching a play tonight and going over to a pub to watch some Dueling pianos, an excuse to drink some good beer and sing loudly.
2) We are going on a hike tomorrow, hopefully. His family is obsessively into hiking ( They do Bi-Yearly trips to the Himalayas) while mine complain if the current goes off and they have to climb three sets of stairs. I've been putting off the hiking thing but I'm hoping its a new thing that this city girl would soon learn to love and appreciate
3) Also trying to incorporate his fanatical love for football and Chelsea, we are going to the bar in the afternoon and nights to watch games that he might want to watch on the big screen.
4) Sunday night, we're going for a concert by Brody something but he sings 'The Music of Queen' with this orchestra which I am UBER excited about because I'm a HUGE Queen fan.
5) Throw in a few runs at the County Park this weekend and this should be a good, useful weekend.
On a side note, I think Red wine can and should be had anytime between 11 A.M to 6 A.M. Any time between this period will allow you to fall into the 'Alcoholic' category.
Sigh
