Saturday mornings seem to be the perfect time to blog.
The beginning of the week usually starts of with me thinking "Ok, only four more days for the weekend", and the countdown continues every hour for the rest of the week.
This Friday, John and I pretended to work past 2 P.M having nothing to do with the Professor out of town.
So we sent each other shit emoticons on Gchat.
~@~
This has to be the most amazing emoticon I've ever seen.
After ten minutes of back and forth 'shit-emoticon-sending', it lost its charm and we decided to walk down and get a coffee. 'And also decided not to come back to lab.
So we whined to Valentina, the post doc about how the weather was nice outside and we were going to read some research papers.
Three steps out of the lab and I whispered "Good time Charleys and a pitcher of Killians. Screw coffee".
And so went off to South U, and our favorite bar to have a drink.
We sat outside and watched all the people in the art fair walk back and forth, commenting on the hot mothers, the whiney freshman and the old white women.
Which was when I exclaimed " I have never seen so many old white women in one place. What is this? Are you sure its not a secret 'Over 40-white-woman-convention' called the 'Ann arbor art fair instead?'
I decided every time I saw one, I would make a noise that went 'wlobet'. It sounds similar to the sound I make when I see freshman/ fresh meat which is 'weebeet'.
John's getting used to me.
He didn't know how to react to my 'Thang oo', 'Welgum', 'Just won nimute', 'What ay super band on my gel' to the point that he thought I was speaking a different language and was tryin to pick it up thinking he was learning something cultural from India.
He's started saying 'Welgum' now.
Thank god for a co-worker who puts up with my nonsense and encourages it too.
